Improvements will include the completion of historic Nelson Hall renovations, the provision of down-to-earth fiber optic cables to support modern training purposes, and the completion of new construction in Area 5 to support year-round use. To support future transportation needs for the Minnesota National Guard, Camp Ripley will build railroads to improve workplace and operation.

These improvements will benefit the Minnesota Armed Forces, non-aligned partners, and launch a wider and more extensive training operation at Camp Ripley. Spring also supplied water to the new fort and later to the upper channel.
